LOOK WHAT WE DID ON SATURDAY!!!!!!

SCROLL DOWN.

We baptised our daughter. We have a list in our church called The Article's of Faith, that state the things that we believe in. Number 4 reads: We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the gospel are fist, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. On Saturday, our daughter took upon her the name of Jesus Christ and was baptised and received the Holy Ghost. It's such a big day. Because on Sunday in church, the Bishopric announces, "We have a new member of the church, Mallory Lo." A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH!!!! Sounds so grownup, or something, to me.

Christian and Jordan

Jordan. Greatest kid alive. Excellent long boarder, concert pianist, passed and got into the Early College Program at El Toro High starting in September, entering Seminar in September, Honor Roll student, Second baseman on the Tustin Titans travel ball team, outfielder on the Broncos' Pony League, and Deacon's Quorum President, and a major hunk!!

Christian. Coming into his own. Excellent swimmer, loves the Lakers and basketball and knows ALL the fouls, and gets upset when the referees don't call it right for the Laker games, pianist, working on passing all of his Articles of Faith and getting the covenant "BIG COOKIE", Left fielder and Second baseman for Lake Forest Little League AAA division Huskers, and future hunk of burning love.

Jett Lo. That's exactly what we call him!!!

Well, look who turns four next week. I don't know why or how it all started, but we don't call him Jett. We actually say, Jett Lo. "Have you seen Jett Lo? Tom, where is Jett Lo I need to give him a bath." I would like to say it went fast, but Jett has always been to hard to raise that I feel like saying, "Four!! Shouldn't he be ten by now!!??!" He has aged me. Sometimes I wonder if other mothers have children this difficult and just embrace it, or don't mind, but I find it hard and exhausting. But, I love this picture of him. He is lucky he is getting cuter. It's the only thing that saves him.

I don't know about you, but it seems like it sure is good to be a kid these days. Or at least our kids. I like to hand make their Easter baskets, and put in the things I know they would each like. Christians had a Lego set and this cool Pop Rocks that you put in a test tube and add some solution to it, and it boils up out of the tube, and then you can drink it. Mallory had Pixos in hers. She loves Pixos. And Jetts had a bubble tumbler and the ever popular pinwheel, which I think has been a favorite for decades with kids. Jordan said, "Your not getting me an Easter basket, RIGHT!! I'm too old for that, mom. I just want a chocolate bunny." But I mean, really, who is going to know. Your friends aren't here Easter morning. He has officially out grown the Easter Bunny. But I couldn't resist, so I got him a very small basket, with no cellophane, with a chocolate Easter bunny, some Warheads, and a gift card. I love doing all the Easter baskets. What will I do with all my energy when the last of our kids, Jett, says I'm too old for Easter baskets mom, just a chocolate bunny please.

Easter Table

Even though it's just me Tom and the kids, I still like to make everything nice for them. Here is the tablescape for Easter. I saw this centerpiece at Ralphs. I loved the three different colors of daisys they used, perfect for my table, since I always use pastels for Easter and spring.

Happy Birthday Christian

Christian turned the big double digits, 10!! He invited two of his best friends, Collin and Evan out to Chinese dinner with. Christians favorite dishes were ordered, chow mien, house special crab, and Peking duck. We also ordered orange chicken for one of his friends who is a little more shy when it comes to Chinese food. We ordered sauteed shrimp and sizzling rice soup, and my favorite, beef with black pepper sauce. After that we went back to our house for cake and presents. I love the picture with just Christian, Collin, and Evan. They just look like best buddies, and their smiles are just truly genuine.

An Evening at Lawry's

We decided to take the boys on our date night to Lawry's of Beverly Hills (something I told my husband will only happen this once). Of course, they loved it. What's not to love. Prim rib, cream spinach, mashed potatoes and auju sauce, yorkshire pudding, hot fresh sourdough bread, and Shirley Temples. And of course if that wasn't enough, the kids wanted dessert as well. Christian had Haagen Daz chocolate ice cream, and Jordan had the infamous Lawry's hot fudge sundae.

SERVICE PROJECT

We had the opportunity to do a fun service project through the church. We each made a quilt that had to be tied. I did all the cutting and measuring. We then took our quilts and ourselves to the church where we sat in the cultural hall and as a family each tied there own quilt. The kids were really into it and seemed to enjoy doing this. I liked it because we all got to sit together and just talk and tie quilts. It was part of the Disneyland "Give a Day Get a Day" program. If you volunteer your time to a local charity off of a list that Disneyland gives you, Disneyland then gives you a free ticket in return for your efforts for anyone over the age of 6. I didn't tell the kids they were getting free Disneyland tickets out of it because I don't want them to expect that you should get something every time you give something. So they don't know it, but we will be using our passes to go to Disneyland at Christmas time. There were very few blackout dates which is nice. The quilts were then donated to a local charity that will distribute them to babies in need. We hope our quilts go to Haiti or Chile.

Want To Buy Some Girl Scout Cookies?

Well, it's that time of year again. Mallory is selling Girl Scout cookies.

Christian had to dress up as a Mexican Vasquero, (a mexican cowboy) for a play called "Walk through California" that he and the fourth grade class did at his school. This was the costume that I came up with.
